Shin Ghidorah Is Here

At long last, finally gotten myself a Shin Ghidorah figure! I do intend to do a repaint of it to make it more accurate, but it's one I need to do some planning on. I know I want to make the neck/back spines as a dark brown. The manes I'm thinking MIGHT be black or a darker brown shade. His underbelly will be made a silver or white, as soon as I get an airbrush so I can have a fading effect on the belly.

I'm not sure if I should keep this shade of gold, or use the same gold as my Showa and Void Ghidorah.

Whatever I decide to do, I'm just glad to have my third favorite Ghidorah in my collection! X3

Shin Godzilla bites their aggressor in the neck, only to find his own neck about to get bitten! Shinagawa-kun rushes to aid, ready to chomp in! Kamata-kun even joins the battle, hanging in there with such determination in those ded fish eyes! Such a good boi!

Even Origami Crane makes a cameo, but who's this coming in the background? :O Tis Rodan, seeking revenge on Origami Crane for replacing him as Beta Birb!

When Tooru was little, his okaa-san taught him how to fold origami.  He hadn't known the reason, only that his okaa-san, wearing that pink cardigan of hers and a sweet smile, had sat down with him and taught him how to create.

They'd started out with cheap sheets of lined paper so Tooru learned the delicacy required for each careful crease and bend.  Every time he finished one, he'd say, "Okaa-san! Look, look!" and she'd laugh and ruffle his hair.  She would lean over his shoulder and bend his fingers for him, sitting him in her lap. She put his uneven cranes and cats and flowers at the center of the dinner table where they stayed, even into Tooru's teenage years.  He graduated to thicker origami paper with gold clouds and blue fans and red butterflies not six months later.

Back then, when he'd been all of five, six, seven, Tooru had yet to find his people.  Kids his age tended to avoid him, and he was fine with that: he much preferred the company of a good book or his action figures.  He liked being alone even more as a kid than he does now, silence his shadow, and Tooru was the weird one who never bothered joining.  And maybe people would say that of him now--even if he's not so lonely anymore, he's too much this, too much that, not enough of this, or whatever.  It doesn't bother him so much anymore, but Tooru distinctly remembers the feeling of rightness every time he runs his fingers over paper.

By the time he was in high school, origami was everywhere.  He'd string flowers together into chains to hang on the walls, stuff them into boxes in his drawers, gift them to his onee-chan for her birthdays.  He was good at them, and he'd absentmindedly fold scrap sheets of paper into small fish when he sat at his desk.  Iwaizumi kept several in his school and gym bags and had some tucked beneath piles of memories in his closet--reminders of the day they met.

When Tooru is in his last year, he folds one thousand cranes out of anything he can get his hands on.  To make sure he'll be a starter within the first five years in San Juan, he says to people when they ask about it, but he really knows it's to cover up his anxiety.  Because this is it.  He's giving up everything but the shadow of a wish to pursue his first love.  And isn't that a scary thought?

The tíos in his apartment complex think his origami is charming, and they'll pester him to make him their own bouquets to stick in vases.  Tooru hands butterflies and birds to children who say he's cool, cheeks burning as he burns the reflex of a bow out of his spine.  The first time he runs into a fan, a little boy, Tooru gives what he has on him: a small rabbit.  The boy runs away to his parents, rabbit clutched in fist, and shows it off.  Tooru smiles to himself and continues down the street, not giving it much thought.  What Tooru doesn't know is that the parents of the boy inevitably take to social media and post about it.  Tooru's fans blow up about it.  Now, he carries cute animals on him at all times.

To José Blanco, Tooru gifts a jar full of stars for showing him the way in a sea of black dwarves.  Iwaizumi gets a recreation of the first origami Tooru ever folded for him: Godzilla, a cat, a jumping frog.  He presses a heart into Hinata Shoyou's hands--an elusive, burning star as always--to thank him for showing Tooru that love can come from his own battle-worn fingertips, and in the shape of a volleyball and a racing heart and a gummy smile.
